What is the Ceiling Menu Board?

The Ceiling Menu Board is a hanging menu board for cafés, bakeries and restaurants, made from aluminum and steel. It suspends from the ceiling on adjustable rods, or mounts to a wall, and comes in two sizes: regular at 31.5″ × 16.9″ (80 × 43 cm) and 13.2 lbs (6 kg), or large at 39.4″ × 28″ (100 × 71 cm) and 24.3 lbs (11 kg).

Does the Ceiling Menu Board come with letters?

No — magnetic letters are an optional extra and aren't included as standard. If you'd like them, choose the letter option when adding this product to your cart: the regular board takes a set of 516 letters, numbers and symbols, and the large board a set of 1,032, both at 1″ (2.5 cm) high. You can also apply a vinyl decal for a permanent menu instead.

What sizes does the Ceiling Menu Board come in?

Two sizes. Regular is 31.5″ × 16.9″ (80 × 43 cm) at 13.2 lbs (6 kg). Large is 39.4″ × 28″ (100 × 71 cm) at 24.3 lbs (11 kg). For a longer format again, the Hanging Menu Board is the horizontal option.

Can the Ceiling Menu Board be wall-mounted instead?

Yes. The board is designed for either ceiling or wall mounting, and all necessary hardware for both is included.

How far down does the Ceiling Menu Board hang?

Four 9.8″ (25 cm) extension rods are supplied — two per side — so you can drop the board 9.8″ (25 cm) or 19.7″ (50 cm) below the ceiling mount, or hang it without the rods for the shortest drop.

Does the Ceiling Menu Board come with mounting hardware?

Yes. Screws for timber are supplied, along with the ceiling and wall mounting hardware. For plasterboard, tile, brick or concrete, source the appropriate fixings from your local hardware store — our guide to drilling into wall tile covers this process.

At 6–11 kg suspended overhead, the fixings need to go into solid structure — a ceiling joist or timber framing, not plasterboard alone. We recommend a builder handle the installation.

Can the Ceiling Menu Board be used outdoors?

No. The board isn't water-resistant or weatherproof, so it's designed for indoor use or fully covered areas.

Can you write on the Ceiling Menu Board with a pen?

We don't recommend using any kind of pen or marker on the Ceiling Menu Board. Use the magnetic letters for changeable menus, or a vinyl decal for something permanent.

What straps come with the Ceiling Menu Board?

Each board includes a brass set of straps and a set matched to your chosen board color.

Does the Ceiling Menu Board arrive branded?

No — all our hanging signs arrive blank. A local signwriter can apply a vinyl decal for a permanent menu, and we're happy to advise on powder-coating and decal printing if you'd like something custom.

Does the hanging sign come with screws for mounting?

Yes, the hanging bakery menu comes with screws for mounting onto a wooden surface.

Can the Ceiling Menu Board be mounted on a tile?

Yes, you can mount the rails to tile or brick. You will need to source the correct screws from the hardware store though as ours aren’t designed for tile or brick - only wooden and drywall surfaces. Take a look at our blog post, how to drill into a wall tile for a step-by-step guide.

Can I use a marker pen to write on the Ceiling Menu Board?

We would not recommend using any kind of pen on the Ceiling Menu Board. To add a decal, get in touch with your local signwriter who will be able to help.
